Summary:
The Peer Recovery Coach will act as a support and resource for adults related to substance abuse and behavioral health treatment services. The Peer Recovery Coach will act as a key member of the treatment team by working with consumers one-on-one to support them in achieving goals and connecting consumers to community resources. The Peer Recovery Coach will support consumer skills in order to improve their overall functioning and quality of life. The Peer Recovery Coach is an individual with lived experience in recovery from a substance use disorder and/or co-occurring mental health condition who uses their personal recovery experience, training, and skills to support individuals seeking and maintaining recovery. The Peer Recovery Coach provides non-clinical, person-centered support, promotes self-determination, assists with navigation of behavioral health systems, and helps individuals identify and achieve recovery goals. The Peer Recovery Coach serves as a role model for recovery, engages individuals in treatment and recovery supports, and helps reduce barriers to accessing community resources and services. This position works in tandem with the SUD Adult treatment team. This position reports to the Adult MI Program Supervisor.
