Summary
The Peer Recovery Coach Trainer is a contractual position serving in a key role with Michigan Disability Rights Coalition (MDRC) and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Peer Services Area. The individual will be responsible for leading and participating in certification trainings and developing and facilitating continuing education trainings. This position works directly with a team of peers, providing essential support and coordination for special projects related to the workforce.

Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate five-day training, MDHHS peer recovery coach certification, up to three times per month.
- Administer testing sessions for MDHHS peer recovery coach certification.
- Work collaboratively to develop and implement continuing education trainings for the MDHHS peer workforce.
- Interview candidates for certification trainings.
- Consult with team to identify training needs.
- Model the CPRC Code of Ethics.
- Share your personal recovery story to provide hope and inspiration.
- Prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
- Assist with special projects and assignments.
- Provide training summaries to the MDHHS Peer Services Area.
Required Qualifications
- MDHHS Certified Peer Recovery Coach.
- Minimum two years of work experience related to peer recovery coaching.
- Experience in delivering and facilitating training.
- Experience developing training materials including electronic and printed documents.
- Ability to maintain a training environment conducive to learning.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to connect and build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to seek solutions both individually and as a team.
- Ability to work in a leadership role within a team and with other contract trainers.
- Effective time management skills, including the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple assignments.
- Ability to serve as a role model for the peer workforce.
- Adhere to the MDHHS Certified Peer Recovery Coach Code of Ethics.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Proficiency with Zoom and Microsoft Teams applications.

This role requires prolonged sitting, standing, and walking, as well as lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending.
Travel
- Ability to complete extensive travel for work.
- Must have reliable transportation for travel to various training locations.
- Ability to stay overnight for multiple days.
- Responsible for maintaining travel logs and submitting accurate and timely travel expense reports.
- Flexibility to adjust travel plans based on changing schedules and priorities.
- May require some travel on Sunday depending on the training location.
- Attend state-wide and regional meetings, conferences, and workshops.
- Must adhere to MDHHS and MDRC travel policies and guidelines.
Salary and Benefits
Salary:
- 40 hours a week.
- $22.00 – $25.00 per hour based on skills and experience.
