We are seeking an Executive Director!
Unlimited Alternatives is a Peer Run Drop-In Center whose mission is to empower community members experiencing mental health and/or substance use concerns by providing peer support, connections to community resources, and encouragement to achieve personal goals.
The Executive Director serves as a key management leader and works closely with a Board of Directors to fulfill UA’s mission to ensure the financial viability of the organization. They also work closely with the board to seek their input in policy decisions, supervision and community involvement and exposure. They serve to ensure consistent optimal quality care using the standards of peer recovery coaching and trauma informed care for all persons receiving services through UA programs. This person will need to be able to make quick, informed decisions that follow regulatory compliance standards in times of emergency while remaining calm and professional.
This position is full-time, 40 hours a week, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This assignment is in-person at 321 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503 with frequent travel within the community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Certified Peer Support Specialist with the State of Michigan or be eligible to become certified by the State as a Peer Support Specialist, which requires an individual be a current or former primary consumer of mental health services through a Community Mental Health system, per the Medicaid Provider Manual
Actively maintaining your recovery and wellness
Demonstrated effective leadership skills
Demonstrated experience interacting positively with individuals from widely diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and varying abilities
Demonstrated experience working independently, being self-motivated, and using effective time management practices
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Possess proficient skill in basic computer programs, including internet functions, Zoom, Gmail, Google drive and other google functions; experience with Quickbooks and ADP desirable
Possess a valid State of Michigan driver’s license
A combination of education, training, and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
